Chris and Taylor went to nursing school together at the University of Alabama. They met while in the same clinical group during their senior year. Although, as a surprise, Taylor was way too nervous to talk to him first. He swooned her by grabbing the hearts of pediatric patients at Children’s of Alabama. The two loved their pediatric rotation, Chris will even say he knew he wanted to marry Taylor after noticing how amazing of a mother she will be one day. After being friends, Chris invited Taylor to his football tailgate, where she met his entire family before the first date. Taylor not only saw how fun, friendly, and lighthearted Chris was that day, but how much he loved his family and friends. They fell in love quickly, and became “official” a short 3 months later. The two were inseparable, adoring each others friends and favorite activities, but ultimately, being truly in love. 6 months into dating, April 2022, Chris experienced a horrific accident, with Taylor hand in hand, and ended up in the Neuro ICU at UAB. Taylor did the night shift in the hospital while his parents slept, and only left his side to participate in Alabama’s graduation ceremony. It took a long time to recover, understanding doctors gave Chris a small chance at being able to resume to everyday tasks. Chris worked hard daily to get back to a “normal” after experiencing a traumatic brain injury, and Taylor stayed extremely patient with him during the process. By the glory of God, Chris is healthy and well. Now Chris is a thriving nurse on the unit he spent a lengthy stay at, and Taylor is a Neonatal ICU nurse at the hospital Chris stole her heart. Now, the two will never take a second for granted. They grow closer in Christ, and to each other, with each passing day.
